Today, I am quite surprised to receive the newest update from Sony which allows users to download high quality music offline with the quality up to 320kbps. This is quite an answer to other competitors, especially Spotify when they just rolled out the new interface a few weeks ago.
Previously users can only stream high quality music. Offline downloads are, however, are compressed down to 96kbps making it very poor quality. With the experience in sound technology, Sony has made the quality of music very good without increasing the size of the downloads. I was quite surprised about this too. I downloaded many songs but this app eats very little memory compared to Spotify.
Music Unlimited also offers selected playlists for local listeners and featured new releases.
Least but not last, Sony also offer 1 year subscription with 3 months more for only 3 euros (1 euro each month). With this killing price, Sony is putting its service back to the race with other music streaming services.
PRO:
- cheap (one year subscription for only half the price to Spotify)
- high music quality (with Sony quality)
- simple interface
- song library is quite big
CON:
- Old interface (it looks like from iOS 6)
- Not having a dedicated app for desktop
